Simple, cheap and gets the job done. I bought it with the plan of testing out some blending and then buying an Xotic X-blender, but the Boss got the job done fine on its own for what I needed.

As if GASing for bass gear want bad enough, I made the mistake of looking at 8X14 metal snare drums. I should not have done that. I wouldn't mind a Ludwig Black Magic, or some DW of similar stats.

My guitar player just got a 350W fender rumble bass head for his rig. He uses the Amptweaker Tightmetal>other pedals>rumble 350. It's LOUD. We tune to B, so the extra watts help but It's surprisingly loud. If I tried to use a 350W amp for my bass I'd be buried.
I was worried that my 900W power amp wouldn't be enough but I think we're evenly matched now. We just re-arranged the practice space set up as well, so now we can hear each other better and we're working to EQ ourselves out of the other's space. Seems to be working. He over does the bass and I over-do the mids so it's good to step back a bit and make the whole band mix sound better. |
