Anyway, I got all the pots desoldered and installed leads to go to new pots. Before rehousing I plugged the bare board in and tested. The boost channel worked fine, but the two fuzz channels were extremely quiet. While futzing with the board, I touched the contacts of the volume pot with my fingers and heard AM radio (I know this is normal). I was amused so I kept touching them and tried to see what I could hear. It was just some sports show, but it kept getting louder and louder. I kept touching the contacts and it just kept getting louder and louder over about 2 minutes until the fuzz channels matched the volume of the boost channel. ***!?
It's like the Fuzz channels needed to be charged by stray AM radio signal. Obviously this is impossible, but I have no explanation for what happened there. Freaking weird.
It's going in one of those cool wrinkle black finish Hammond boxes and will be named something Electric Wizard-esque. Any suggestions for names? I was contemplating using the Electric Wizard Font and/or artwork, since as I'm sure lots of you know, it's Electric Wizard guitar tone in a box. | Hmmmm how bout the Black Butterfly or the Wooden Pipe?

But we're not opposed to playing interesting places. We play a lot of basement shows in chicago, so it's not all huge europeon festivals for us....yet. |

"Wizard in Black" might be cool too, considering the pedal will be all black. idk. Quote: |

I plan on adding some nice big chunky vintage-looking knobs too. I'm not going to add an external switch to switch between modes, I think the FuzzII is the only decent mode, so I'm just going to keep it here. That way I don't have to desolder the damn 3pdt switch from the cramped board either. I HATE desoldering.

I still love my rat, but the demon king just dominates in the mix. I can hear and feel every note with authority and clarity. It's awesome. | Was that the only pedal you tried out recently?
