I like almost all eras of the Melvins, but the Rutmanis era is my personal favorite. There were times when the guy wasn't even in tune with the rest of the band, but he played with a reckless abandon that no one else could bring to the table.

Strangely enough, I just don't dig Shrinebuilder.

I mean... I should... I really want to... but to me, the sum does not equal the parts.

Go figure.



And while I pine for the Lorax days, I'd have to go with the Rutmanis era as well. I was super-psyched when Big Business linked up with them but the combo hasn't really hit the same vibe.
