Suzi's my pal! Well, not really, but I've played her husband Reiner's big Oldie Fest in Stuttgart twice now and got to hang out with her a couple times. Onstage she comes across as a tough little chick who will kick your ass, but the truth is she is a sweetheart of a gal who will kick your ass

She hasn't used a Bich in years, though. First time I was there she had a couple Status basses through two vintage SVT's, but she switched back to a Precision*. Still rocks it, too. Very underappreciated in the US but still draws big in Europe.

EDIT: Oops, looks like I spoke too soon. Just saw a couple more recent pics and she was using a 70's Jazz with block inlays.

One more reason why you are my hero, Jimmy. Suzi Quatro makes me so glad that I didn't waste my time on Rush, et al, back in those days. I'm envious that you know her.

well it's not like we exchange emails regularly or go shopping for basses together so don't be THAT envious but you would love her, mos def. she's very down to earth and friendly and nice to her fans. hope i'm not ruining her image for you...but she's just plain good folks.

John Goldsby did a Q&A with Suzi for the new Bass Player (August issue - Timothy B. Schmit on the cover)

from the interview:

"Which of your instruments would you refuse to sell, and why?"
"The Fender Precision that my dad gave me -- sunburst, with a stripe up the back and a gold scratch plate -- is the absolute business. And my BC Rich Bich -- custom made, neck up the fretboard. It's on the cover of Rock Hard."

Actually I think you might be wrong. Suzi and Joan were in the band The Runaways together...---
Sorry, I was mistaken, it was Lita Ford that was in the Runaways with Joan, but according to Wikepedia
Suzi put out her first album in 1973 and Joan in 1975 with Suzi's help!!!
Rockin Chicks both of them!

When I was at Huron High School in Ann Arbor '75-78, there was this babe; Diane Quattrociocci. Looks just like Suzi Quattro. Drop dead gorgeous in that youthful non-make up way.

She said they were cousins...!

Being 17 and in a perpetual trance around good lookin' babes, I said...o.k.

Well, the main reason why I was a fan of Suzi was not exactly music, nor bass. Oh well... her 1973ish hits were nice, though.
