Tarus Mateen - Jazz bassist

Tarus Mateen is the excellent bassist with jazz pianist Jason Moran. He plays upright and electric. Can anyone identify the electric bass he is playing in this photo?

Thanks

Wow! That's a new one to me. BTW, he used to play for the Goodie Mob. He also used to endorse Modulus. Monster player!

It's a Marco acoustic bass guitar. There's a photo of one in the April 2005 Bass Player that belongs to Marcus Miller.

Tarus Mateen is a rediculous player with a great style all his own. Its nice to see his name here.

Last weekend I saw Jason Moran filling in for Danilo Perez in the Wayne Shorter Quartet. Stand up job!

That is a cool bass. Is it a fretless or a fretted? I can't quite see. Looks fretted, but I'm not sure.

Waldog, looks like a lined fretless to my eyes. Also the action looks pretty high too. The one in the Marcus Miller article is headless too. I could not find a website for them though.

Looks like super high action!
Oh well, I guess upright bassists can deal with that -- I cant!
