Is there a most hated, yet famous bassist?

Sign in to disble this ad
Most pianists hate Richard Clayderman and most saxophonists hate Kenny G (I do realized now that even some bassists do).

So is there a bassist where every bassist would love to hate?
VW?

Edit: Have I just opened a can of worms?

I'm sure it's probably Gene Simmons.

Did you ever see his crappy bass solo on YouTube? It's so bad it's genius.

I think Feildy is the most made fun of bassist on TB, I used to see bad stuff about him all the time on here.

In all honesty though, I don't think he's that bad, and his band is HUGE.

I hate it when people who have never even touched an instrument come up to me and talk to me about how he is so awsome and about how he has such good sound.

just makes me want to puke...

Apparently its Michael Anthony..with Gene Simmons a close second, from what Ive read on here...but hey they were 2 of my biggest influences when I was 16 and learning to play, and I still dig 'em....so there

No mention of Mark Hoppus yet?

It's funny how all the players people love to hate are the ones that have sold millions and millions of records. I wonder if Korn, KISS and Blink 182 were underground bands nobody had heard of would people have different opinions?

I'm not a fan of any of the above (OK maybe I have a weak spot for KISS) but I think they should only be applauded for not letting a lack of technical talent stand in the way. All just my humble opinion of course...
