He has no musical talent, and despite having enough money to wipe his a$$ with $100 dollar bills, he wants more.
I've now lost even more respect that I didn't have for him.

Given the opportunity, I'll bet 80% of the posters here would be happy to over expose themselves, play easy bass lines on a bass they designed, make some (less then wonderful) music every night, and sell a bunch of crappy merchandise for a big profit. The payoff: make millions a year, and sleep with a cute young thing every night that also happens to have millions in the bank account.
Why does anyone care what a pretty boy entertainer does, unless they're jealous?

He figured out how to take some marginal musical talent, and some entertaining talent and make millions and millions. More power to him...
I know that if someone approached me and said "hey - we can put your picture on [product X] and potentially make a big wad of cash off of it," I'd reply with a big "let's do it ASAP!"
If you're profiting off your music at all, you're selling out in some form or another. Simple economics. Mr. Wentz is just really, really good at it. |
