That wondrous moment you click the fuzz/distortion in and everyone starts headbanging twice as hard.

Playing right in front of a full bass stack at an outdoor gig, feeling your pant legs flap, your butt cheeks quiver, and the tone is grabbing you by the cajones. A few thousand folks out front going ape sh*t doesn't suck either. Especially when half of them are in bikinis.

When attractive women hit on me. I really have always liked that, and I always will. I don't know how much longer it will happen, but God Bless You, Each and Every One.

Completely forgetting about chords, notes, and where my fingers are and just hearing myself and the entire band, lost in the music itself.

That quiet satisfaction that come from the knowledge that no-one really knows what I do but they notice when I don't do it.

When bass and drums work together to give the soloists that big comfy groove to play within.

When you're playing at a small club, and you crank your volume and hit an open E and get everyone in the room's attention.

Being able to make jokes with the drummer while the guitar player is soloing.

I love it when you are as loud as you want to be, and no one is complaining and your're shaking walls. You can hear it and feel it. The whole thing just goes right through you. The room belongs to you. Your rig sounds great, your bass sounds great, and your chops are on and everybody knows it. Experiences like this are few and far between but they do happen from time to time.

Cool fall evenings at the garage across from the lake with a handful of amateur musician friends “just winging it”. Don’t forget the beer.
