When his solo album finally drops, I bet it'll change a few opinions on him. Problem is that it'll probably be another seven or eight years before it comes out

I've been a fan of Bill for a long time. There has always been a lot more to his game than chops, and it's about time he got some appreciation for that! The guy is one of the best in the business today, no doubt!

Yep, not many "current" albums with him bassin' it up - maybe there's a Zaza/Rock/Dickens thing around though?

While I know the guy can 'play' it's funny that basically 99% of his videos show only the machine gun stuff! I certainly wouldn't want folks to think I was a one trick pony. He probably doesn't care about stuff like that anyway!

Great, tasty playing. I am one that is not a fan of his pyrotechnic slap technique. This clip shows a side of him I can definitely dig. Thanks for posting.

I was blessed to see Bill Dickens a number of years ago playing an Ibanez Musician bass (great sounding bass!!) with Ramsey Lewis in a trio setting. While he displayed riduclous chops and blew everyone away when soloing, he was grooving to the max! There is more to Bill than pyrotechnics!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

It says monster bass solo, but I thought this was kinda tasteful. (Sounds not the best though)
