Hi Guys,
I just picked up Rage Against the Machine's first album, great album.
Just curious which bass Timmy C was using on it.
I know he was using a Jazz Bass/Maple in later Albums
and he started using a Jazz Bass/Rosewood on the Audioslave stuff.
I think its a Musicman.. but not sure if its Maple, rosewood?
Sterling or Stingray?
anywhoo thanks for any replies..
apologies if its in the wrong section.. |

I much prefer his more recent tone - the whole thick, overdriven Jazz Bass thing. I think Evil Empire and Battle Of Los Angeles captures it best. It provides better support to Morello's guitar and makes the groove of the band that much more powerful.

Russ | You got it right on everything.Lovely thick tone of Battle.... and Evil Empire.I'm not a huge fan of the tone on the first album.Nice tone but doesn't fit the band

| | | | He took the PG off the ray and put on a thumb rest.I too prefer the tone on Evil Empir and LA.So smooth sometimes(Intro to Calm Like a Bomb) and sometimes so thick and overdriven(Most of the time!)
