I'm (FINALLY) reading Neil Young's biography, "Shakey". It mentions that Tim Drummond was born in Bloomington, Illinois. Now I'm from Bloomington/Normal and the famous people I've known about from here were only Adlai Stevenson (UN ambassador, US Vice President, and candidate for President), and his relative McLean (M*A*S*H's Col. Henry Blake), and some big insurance company.
So the 'net tells me that he was either born in Bloomington, or in Canton, Illinois. Canton's a small town further west, closer to Peoria and the Spoon River. Either way, I'd never heard that he was from these parts.
So, does ANYONE know how to verify if probably the ONLY guy who's played with James Brown, Conway Twitty, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young was from here?
Thanks!
John

John | Just found you post search TB for Tim Drummond.
Strange enough my mom just called me and ask if I knew who Tim Drummond was. Honestly the name was familier but a lot of names sound familiar....
Anywho, apparently she was looking for her cousin from Canton who she'd lost contact with and ran across the name Tim Drummond and remember he had been best friends with her (I guess our) cousin when they were kids. She said he lived in Canton when he was younger but she didn't know about him being born in Bloomington. I was born in Canton so I found this interesting. Just learning about Drummond and reading his credit. Don't know a lot of it but I own Neil Youngs Harvest which he apparently played on, have to check out the James Brown stuff. He's also credited for some playing on Jewels Piece of Me album that I'm somewhat familiar with.
