i finally took a close listen to the song hotel california the other day. DAMN, his style is great on this track.

the more i listen to the eagles, the more i like the basslines.

I thought that that was Randy Meisner. Timothy B. Schmidt came on board later.

...the tune is merely a reggae feel(bass)within a Rock groove structure(drums); no?

Both Acacia and MJB have valid points. Schmidt plays on the 'Hell Freezes Over' album and sounds killer...makes the bass line his very own. AND...what an awesome, laid back feeling on 'The Long Run'...C C A G C C A G...simple elegance!
