I don't know if any of you caught the Eagles concert on NBC the other night, but one bassist who does what he does extremely well is Tim Schmidt. There's nothing fancy or slappin about his lines; they're just solid and melodic and effortless. That's much more impressive to me than some slap happy freak. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He had a couple of beautiful slightly modded vintage Fender Jazz basses that were fun to see, too.

I always liked Timothy's playing, almost as much as his singing, especially the playing he did on his first time around with the Eagles.
