Tips on Getting Sponsored or Endorsed

I need help understanding exactly what sponsorship means or how it works and if anyone could give me some tips or anything that'd be awsome

the only tip i can give is to get lots of gigs and be good. you don't get sponsorships or endorsements by a company liking you--you get sponsorships because the companies want to use you to sell their stuff...so if you are out in public, you are advertising for them--so get lots of gigs and get a fanbase for your band or solo effort.
