Question Tom Hamilton had cancer?

Sign in to disble this ad
AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton will be sitting out a few gigs at the beginning of the band's upcoming "The Route of All Evil" tour. Hamilton has just completed a seven-week course of radiation treatment for throat cancer. He will be with his family recovering and will join the tour in mid-October. He and his band mates look forward to his return. Filling in for Hamilton will be David Hull, a longtime friend of the band who played in the JOE PERRY PROJECT.

Crap! It's almost funny, I remember reading the interview with him in Bass Player and thinking he looked really healthy for a rock star of his age.
Get well soon, Tom!

Ironically enough, many readers voiced their opinions regarding the cigarette "advertisement" in the recent issue of Bass Player magazine featuring Hamilton.

On a lighter, related note, a good friend of mine just slipped a disc in his back----- moving a treadmill for Steven Tyler!!!!

I might have to rethink using my tickets for September 26th. I've always wanted to see them live and never had the chance but It can't be Aerosmith without Tom.

My prayers are with you Tom and hope you become one of the lucky ones who beats cancer.

Just a bit of information for all of you, yes smoking is know to be a cause of cancer, but, we are all born with cancer, what activates or causes the cancer to mature is the mistery. There's several of us TB'ers that are dealing with treatments for cancer of different origins, so my thoughts and prayers go out to all of us.

Tom came out and played "sweet emotion" last night at the Tweeter Center in Mass. It was cool to see him. The crew did an amazing job of keeping David Hull out of the spotlights. That might have to do with them filming the show.

I just saw Aerosmith at Nissan Pavilion tonight (well, last night, since its after midnight now), and no Tom Hamilton, they had a stand-in bass player. I didn't catch his name.

Joe Perry announced that Hamilton was resting up at home and made no comment about his return.
