Actually he left in 1980 after the "All Shook Up" album. That "Tom Petersson and Another Language" album is...hmmm...interesting.

Or get "The Complete Budokan Concert". On the other hand, "Budokan II" has three songs from 1979 Budokan gig (On Top Of The World, Stiff Competition and How Are You) that aren't on the "Complete"...so get 'em both!

I have read too that the 4-string bass was doubled with a guitar on some Cheap Trick recordings but I've only spotted one: the bass break on "Baby Loves To Rock". Rick Nielsen played bass on that, BTW.
There's some 12-string on those early studio albums too, songs like "Heaven Tonight", "Dream Police", "I Know What I Want" and "Need Your Love". Petersson had a great sound, wheter he used a 4- or 12-string.

One of the good examples of his studio 12-string sound is on "Wrong Side Of Love off the album "Lap Of Luxury". Great sound, although the song would be better without those awful synth horns.

The album "Cheap Trick" from 1997 has plenty of 12-string too.

Thank you for correcting my Timeline, And Yeah "Another Language" Is like a bad "Missing Persons" CD....As far as The T Bird, Telecaster thing that was from Tom himself when I met him. Go figure.
But Yeah I agree"Gonna Raise hell" has got to be his 12!!!!!!

There is good stuff on "One On One" 'though Roy Thomas Baker's bombastic production almost ruins the album and I like "Next Position Please" very much. "Standing On The Edge" has some good moments and "The Doctor"...well, there must be some but again the production...

The first two Petersson comeback albums "Lap Of Luxury" and "Busted" aren't my favourites either. Too much outside songwriters while they could pen such minor classics like "Never Had A Lot To Lose" by themselves. "Woke Up With A Monster" was a way up and 1997's "Cheap Trick" is a very good album.
