Great bassist and producer. He plays some of the best pop/gospel bass I've ever heard with the best tone ever on Power of One.

I'd say he is one of the most effective bassists ever, with an eye on the music always.

That's probably the best thing any of us can say about a bassist.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned "Big Man's Hat" by Charlie Peacock...his bass playing on that song, kicks butt. Some of his best work IMO.

There was a recording by Natalie Grant of the Christian community, called "We Are All the Same"
From the first whole note that the bass player played ( I had the bass equalized up )
I was quite struck by this bass player. I am still not positive of this persons Identity. But his SOUND kills for me.

In my attempts to ID this player, I bumped into TOMMY SIMS, I love this guys playing.
The guys I have always loved are Jamerson, Rainey, Weeks, Lee, Paladino, Miller, Jaco
Tommy Sims is a great bass player.
Any further information on him, his recordings, did he record for Natalie Grant, his gear, etc, would be nice to learn about.
Check out his bass playing on a track called "Peace and Love" Tommy Sims - Peace and Love - YouTube
It has only 8000+ hits, a shame considering how effortlessly he plays these to die for bass notes.

I bought that CD new in 2001 and it is still in my car CD player. I agree, that bass on that cut is nasty, makes the hair stand up on my neck!! This CD should have won a Grammy!!!!
