After reading the other tony grey thread some ppl said they wanted to hear/see tony playing some longer/extented solo lines,so i thought i throw up a nice section of tony soloing on a more melodic tune "IF" from a Hiromi TV broadcast a friend from japan sent me over http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL4GDaulw1Q
As you will see he's still badly dressed this time going for the Redneck truck driver look
i also found a longer version of Kung-Fu World Champion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okWg_6mhxWY
Enjoy

His lines are still extremely bland and scalular!!! He uses 1 motif and hardly expands on it and I don't like it. Basically, he is not playing the changes, just the diatonic minor/blues minor scale.
But that's only a criticism of his solo abilities - everything else bass related with him is great.

Dave | Do you really think you are hearing what his cabs and amp are sounding like? Most likely he is going through a direct box and what you are hearing is a board mix. |

That hat... he looks like a emo, or an indie or a scene kid or a whatever the unoriginal mass wishes to be called nowadays. |

Otherwise though, from what I've seen, definitely a great player. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
