Tony Grey new stuff

Hello everybody I hope this finds you well.
It seems like a long time since I posted in here.
There has been a ton of stuff going on which I'm excited to tell you about.
As a sideman I have been playing with the great Sax player and legend Bill Evans, the Indian Electronica Tabla Player and Drummer Karsh Kale, Sax player Ada Rovatti. As a leader I have been working a lot with my Quartet and more recently with my Trio featuring David Fiuczynski and Gene Lake.
We just got back from Tokyo which was a blast.
I'm also excited to receive my new Fodera Signature Model which you can see here :

I have written and finished my new instructional Book with Music Sales, We are filming the DVD now and should be released in a few months world wide.

I'm also in the late stages of my online music Center which I'm really really excited about I have written a lot of Lessons for all you guys, I's taken over a year to gather all the content, I'll let you know when it's up and running.

Some of those songs are genius, no question. I dig that youtube vid, and love that 4 string Fodera as well. Sounds great, and seems to be a great fit.

Will you be covering right hand picking technique in your book and lessons?

Cool trio, I've been a Fuze fan since the 1 st Screaming headless Torsos record, I freakin listened to that thing a million times.
He's one awesome guitarist, you can instantly recognise his playing.

Nice bass and trio. I'm curious as to where the whole right hand finger plucking thing as applied to the bass comes from. It's something I associate with guys like Matt Garrison, Janek Gwizdala and Hadrien Feraud - and I'm seeing it applied by more and more players. I figure you'd be a good guy to ask about the evolution of that technique.

I never thought about it to be honest, I just played the way that was comfortable to me. I practice things very slowly so every note is clear and it just developed that way.

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing it evolved from guys playing chords and tightly spaced arpeggios (which are more commonly played on the bass now than they were "back in the day").

Hey Tony, I just want to say that I'm a new fan man. I love the way you play and I love the music you produce. Can't wait for the instructional book & DVD!!! I've been stuck in my playing for a little bit because I'm theory blocked and it's limiting my knowledgeable movement around the fretboard. I inquired a couple days back about lessons, and I'm eagerly awaiting!

Nice to see you on talkbass!

Best regards,

Brooks

Hey Brooks yeah I got your mail thanks, I can totally help you, these lessons are all about Creative practicing it's a complete new system designed 100% to having a voice of your own, taking simple ideas and making only music from them. Can't wait to share it with you. I'm so passionate about music and practicing I hate it when people teach only to make money and never really dedicate themselves to this art of education and self empowerment.

Tony, are you moving more towards 4-string now? Interesting to see your signature model as a 4 when you've been using a 5 and 6 for most everything else for so long now.

Great clip, Tony. Loving the stuff you're doing, and I'm glad the new bass is working out nicely for you!

I just got a new Fodera last week and find it to be nothing short of inspiring so far.

Looking forward to the lessons and all the new stuff you are working on!

Well the 4 is for a number of reasons, It's for certain pop gigs production, lessons and me basically just enjoying it.
I will still play the 6 a lot, I'm hoping if this instrument takes off for Fodera they will make a 6 String version. This 4 is some awesome I can't really believe it. So compact it's crazy.

Cool. What specs are unique to your model? Looks like a Monarch shape.
