I mean the bass line in dont speak and im just a girl are just really great.
They really stands out of the mix, and so melodic.
Anybody else who thinks that?
Havent found any thread about him and on youtube.com for example there aint a single video with him.
I mean, the guy actually played with: Springsteen, Costello, dave grohl and steve van zandt under a allstar concert named: "superstar garage band"
so i mean to be picked out to play with all thouse great guitarist and musician must be a sign of something atleast. |

At least, I've never found him to be very good at all, but then I find No Doubt so irritating I doubt I'll ever change my mind about him. |

I haven't really been paying attention to their albums after "Tragic Kingdom", though, they were starting to become a bit too pop-ish for my tastes. I think he's the main reason why I've been wanting a Yamaha BB for a while now, though. |

| | | | well dont speak was so extremly hard to understand the groove.
Until i used guitar pro and heard it, i found out that ive been playing a whole different kind of groove than what its mean to be.
Its a really cool bass line, 2 bad its hard to hear it.
Like with every other supermixed **** on mtv! |

I get hip to a lot of cats I might not otherwise "really" hear by learning their parts for gigs.

I like all ther albums, one of those bands tht produces albums different from the next while retaining ther essence. His bass playing has always been tasteful, undestands wht da song needs. |

Well there are a few songs that the bass work sounds really sloppy on, those just happen to be the songs that I heard of his first when I really started listening to bass, so that is what my opinion of him is based on.

He asked us "hey have you guy's ever heard of the band No doubt?" well because of the fact i was playing with a bunch of older jazz/R&B guy's only I and the singer had heard of them but (lucky for me ) I said "yeah I like them" then He Say's "my nephew is the bass player" I said "cool he's a good player" He said "would you like to meet him?" I said "hunh?" turns out tony kanal was there having dinner with his family who lived in the area. His uncle went over and got him,and introduced him to the band (who mostly had no idea who he was) He was very cool and laid back,it was obvious to me that his uncle must tell people who he was all the time and that it kind of annoyed him but but we talked a little shop and told each other to keep up the good work. Later the bandleader asked me "who was that?" I told him he's the bass player for No Doubt He look at me and Say's "what is that a rap group or something?" LOL

I have an old bootleg live tape from the early days (way before Tragic Kingdom) and he is just smokin'!! I was sorry that they dropped almost all of the ska stuff later.
