Well MYName, I got it. Too funny!

DreadHead, I'm trying to define why I dont belittle other musicians, even if I think they're not the greatest. ( unless they're awful and doing it in public, like most of the Amiercan/Albanian./Austrialian/etc Idol cast) asnd its not easy to do...

Once you get "mature" in life and self assured ( and you dont have to be old to be mature - I know childish imps older than me) you can stop viewing events/stimulus/people through the eyes of our own ego. I use this symbolic (maybe!?) concept of Mother Music to guide my asthetics adn judgements in Her realm, as it downplays or eliminates my own personal prejucides and ego from the equation. Maybe mitigates is a better term than eliminates, since I'm not a zen monk ( my sis is! ).

Kinda just like what bubbaLove said. Many critisisms come from a place of insecurity. And you know it when you hear it, dont ya? I do, but I'm an old experienced sob. It almsot like they scream, " I DONT LIKE MYSELF AND I"M JEALOUS!". Pity the poor slobs.

Point two, while I agree that the internet has enabled more truth, it has also enabled more hubris than ever before. People offering their opinion without any reasonable basis in fact, or even due dilligence about the subject. I.e..

So while the information age has made truth more accessible, it has also grown a dense jungle around it, so its harder to find. I hear/see people debating other people's opinions all the time, and they arent aware they're spinnin' intellect by doing that.

Dread, it sounds as if you are properly maturing as a musican and human. Cool. Rage on!

Peace. Out.

I agree with the dread. Sometimes I wonder if all these losers even play bass. I guarantee they spend more time online than playing or practicing. I may not go for the same tone or sound as certain bassists, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate their accomplishments or ability. I think these gear geeks get jealous when someone else makes a splash. I understand constructive criticism, but think about where the comments are coming from before getting offended.

This site gets way too many threads started and too much BS...I spent 3 hours playing guitar/recording and doing a vocal track and this is my relaxing time. What were you doing today?

Got up at 7:30 did two hours of reading for my 10am class. Went to class, had lunch, came back to the dorm, played bass for a good hour and now I'm here. In a few minutes I'll do some more work for my 2:25pm class, then I go to my job at 4:30. thanks for asking.

Just to curb any further confusion...I was being completely serious with my over-the-top criticism of the OP's post about over-the-top criticism.

I thought that was pretty obvious. Nice one... and it never fails, someone doesn't get it.

Yes, and I was being completely serious criticising the criticism of the criticism outlined by the OP... you see how we could go round like this all day?

Well I think many of us actually have full-time jobs and work much longer and harder than that!
