anybody else go to this show last sunday? geez! i love these guys. man are they tight! justin and danny are just surgical in their precision? so,
a. did they sell their souls to the devil
b. are they aliens
c. were they put here to embarass the rest of us
d. all the above

i'm glad i got to see them as the next time they'll be coming around probably won't be until 2011 at the rate they record and tour

I go with d.

I saw them a few years back (Lateralus album, Ozzfest). They were very very tight. they sounded incredible too...

But a bit too tight in my opinion, They just sounded like they were being dubbed Even Maynard. They were playing perfection, but a little bit more impro and 'mistakes' would have been nice.

Maynard was completely locked in his own world, face painted black and white, demented performance. They came, blew everyone away, left, and that was it. Very weird. No encore, not a word to the audience.

i haven't seen the 10000 days tour but i've seen em 3 times before they are freakishly good. and some of those new songs rhythms are so freaking wacked out, i know i stand no chance of playing em right. they seriously blow my mind that they can even play those songs correctly let alone actually write that stuff. they're the ultimate super group AFAIMC

what year was tool at ozzfest? wow!

if there ever was a band that should put out a concert dvd it's them. i hope they do this soon. new releases and tours are so few and far between. i agree that they are the ultimate supergroup. just mindblowing!

I missed this show

I'm going to Gigantour this Friday, though (same venue), so it's not all bad.

I've never seen Tool in concert though, and I'd have loved to...

thanks, i have seen various bits from tool on youtube. but you just know that if they put out a proper dvd the quality, extras, visuals, etc would be incredible given the kind of amazing videos they do.

mysticboo, you *HAVE* to check them out at some point. you won't be disappointed.

I was there in Oakland, on the floor, center stage about 200 feet back. It was freakin' AMAZING.

i seen them at Coachella this recent year... where they played their first show in years... i must say.... they were NOT a tight band that show... when they played Schism the intro was sloppy and not together at all.... it was their first time playing live in what 8 years? i guess a tad of ring rust. glad they pulled it together.

Saw them in London a couple months ago and plan to again in november when they return.

Man that gig changed my life haha......What a great live band, I was pleased to hear that the tunes didn't sound exactly like the album ones and Danny was doing different fills in places and just to be able to hear how that great music is performed in a live environment was such a privilage. Oh and Maynard is a funny guy, he was doing stand-up between tunes and really interacting with the crowd which I didn't expect having seen other performances of theirs on the net and heard the stories!

2002, donnington park. System of a Down were good too. And Slayer made my ears bleed! Loud and relentless. I also remember being soaked by the mother of all rain showers, amusingly, when Cradle Of Filfth just started their set

BTW, trying to find bootleg recordings of an old Tool gig, before they recorded their first album. Was awesome, but can't remember where it is. YouTube, or Google video, not sure... If anyone knows where they live, I'd like to see them again.

Really? Weird, my experience of the Ozzfest gig was the complete opposite. They sounded a bit mechanical, and no interraction. Must have been a bad day or something. But it didn't matter really, it was still brilliant. Songs, sound, visuals, spot on.

Well the roskilde concert was amazing

Danny's computer actually crashed midset so Maynard started to act all silly saying we smelled and dressing up in different things

He also talked alot midset aswell (mostly about how smelly we were)

2,5 hours in queue to get the best spot ever was nothing

I was at this show and I was in the front row in front of Justin--This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I was blown away by Justin and how tight the band was. Also the sound was great and the volume wasn't too loud at all. Powerful show--very very powerful.
