Traa Daniels from P.O.D.

just got back from seeing P.O.D. tonight Traa was sounding awesome. he played a Warwick streamer, thumb, and dolphin. he was gettin maximum GRROOWWLLL!!! the band was SO tight, it was cool.

Fenex TX opened up and got booed off the stage. they deserved it though, they were acting like total jerks. at an all ages show with little kids everywhere they were screaming obscenities, and promoting drug use, and group sex. they left the stage giving the crowd a tounge lashing of four letter words and middle fingers waving. they showed absolutly no class. quite a diffrence when P.O.D. came out, they showed nothin but love. Fenex TX's bass player was like 8 feet tall, whoa!

P.O.D. absolutely kick sum serious @ss!

BUt I hate how everyone seems to think they are just another new nu-metal band, when they have been toghether since about 1992!

I saw them about two years ago when they were here in town, a bit before they got popular. The show was just amazing, couldnt of asked for a better show. They will be back in November with Fenix TX and Blindside. I hope Fenix TX has grown up a little. Should be quite a good show.

a good traa (sp?) track is Hollywood off of Fundamental Elements of Southtown but it should not be taken as the best of his ability

We've actually talked via email a few times, it's a Warwick guy thing!

Anyway, I love what they promote, but I haven't really been able to get into their music. I'll have to get a CD, and sit by myself and listen to it.

Check out PODs new CD, Satellite. There are some really great songs on there. Ridiculous is AWESOME! That songs has the funkiest bass line you're ever gonna hear from a metal band. The titile track is sweet, too. My cousin has a huge stereo in his car, and we were listening to Satellite in there. When the second verse came on, and Traa took over... whoa. I don't thoink eithere of of could breathe.

I thought his bass stuff was better on Elements of Southtown, than their new one. He's a great bass player though.

On Southtown, Traa was more consistent. Most of the songs on that album had a good bassline. On Satellite, there aren't as many really good basslines, but when there are good lines, Traa really shines. The softer tracks on Satellite tend to have the best bottom end (Satellite, Ridiculous, Ghetto...).

yeah fenix tx blow,
i hate them, their music, and everything they stand for, just another pop punk band,
but i think the dude from P.O.D. is really good,
he gets great tone, and fits in with the band perfectly, great band with crappy openers.
sounds familiar.

I just saw them again last night. What a great show. He had his Eden stack with 4 4x10s and 2 2x12s. That is some volume! They sounded great, and put on a good show. I got so hot being smushed in the front that I had to move, for fear of dying.

Great show, and they blew Fenix t x out of the water. Blindside was good though. First band that I have ever seen that did the around the world thing with the guitar and bass, where they swing it around and then catch it. Pretty neat.

Traa is very cool in a down-to-earth way.My old band opened up for P.OD. in '97 when they were still on their own label(Rescue Records.) Back then I was still using a pick(gasp...)After watching and listening to Traa 's sound,I decided to go back to using my fingers.So, in a way,Traa has had an influence on me.I must admit,
they were intense live and very fan oriented before ,during,and after the show.

I'm seeing POD on Thursday, with Blindside opening (whom I've heard good things about). Thankfully "Fenix TX" isn't on the bill, which will save me the trouble of bringing stuff to throw.

I love POD's music. But on some tracks, the singer sounds like he's trying to hard. Like Southtown, is a good song for lyrics. But Alive, it doesnt quite go together. I dunno, maybe its just me. But overall I like POD.

on alive he's definetly pushing it. you should hear him sing it live, he really has a hard time hitting those high notes. but, they pull it off. I will definetly go see them again, overall a really good show.

He was one of the first bassists in modern sounding metal band that I heard that had both a good tone and suprising tallent. When I heard Rock the Party(I think thats the name, cant remember) And I heard the verses, I said "Now thats how you slap" because that was the first time that I ever heard a bassist in a rap-core New Metal have a decent slap sound and technique.(Not "Nu" metal, thats what I call bands that dont show origionality and just ride the sound of anouther band without injecting their own personal style to it). I usually dont like lyrics that tend to be religion based to often(Usually it sounds cheesy to me IMHO) The songs that they wrote actually lyriclly have alot of passion to them which I can respect. Overall I like the whole band alot and Traa is a very talented individuall along with the rest of the band.

Nope, they're a buncha big worthless jerks. My friend caught them with P.O.D. in DC and they have absolutely no sense of decency or respect. I'm all for the "F*** YOU!" attitude in a proper context but opening for a Christian band with an audience full of little kids and mothers is not it.

I've just seen P.O.D in London, the other night........i've been waiting fo a chance to see them for years......and thankfully, they had no support band.

They were AWSOME as i new they would be..........the way Traa played "Hollywood" was amazing, as he pounded his bass, raising his hand high before bring it down on the strings, before the popped notes, incredible. The guy is just so phsyched, and yet so cool. unfortuantly Marcus was unwell so they only played 70 minutes, but i'm still uzzing from the gig 3 days later.

It has to be said that although they are great musicians,....and they write great songs,.......they are the best band at "performing" that i've ever seen, and when you have a combination like that, you know you've seen something special!!
