since the 80's it was common to find a bass player by finding another musician, for example usually next to joe satriani you will find stuart hamm or next to steve vai you'll probably see billy sheehan and if you find steve morse chances are dave larue is on stage also there is scott henderson with gary willis etc. wonder what other instrumental partnership that have been together over the years you can suggest to find a specific bassist.
Well, Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen, actually. They were in Mr. Big together and did a tour of Japan under Richie's name opening for the Rolling Stones.
