Travis Carlton.........

I just saw Larry Carlton and Robben Ford last night, Larry had his son Travis playing bass. What a great player!! Laid down a monsterous groove the whole time, traded 4s with Larry and Robben without missing a beat, and tone for days (Sadowsky through an Aguilar head with 2 Aggie 4x10's) I looked him up on Myspace and he is a busy guy, check him out here http://myspace.com/travisjcarlton

I saw him play with Robben Ford a couple of weeks ago here in Oregon, and...wow. What a player! Layed down an incredible groove all night. Very tasteful use of the thumb in the blues context. A couple of killer solos. I was expecting to see roscoe beck for the first time, but watching this guy play was a pleasant surprise.

Just saw him last night In Boulder, CO with his dad and Robben Ford. I agree with everyone, solid groover player and great tone! He took a few very nice solo's and the Sadowsky B-string killed out front. Great show.
He looks nothing like his dad and when the announced him as Travis "Carlton" I was like....nah....can't be.

I too was at the show last night in Boulder and Travis was fun to watch. Larry and Robben were a real treat. But Gary Novak on drums absolutely blew me away. Larry, and even sometimes Robben, would really push the envelope and sometimes fall of the edge, but Gary and Travis kept a pocket you could park a truck in, and by listening and watching Gary on drums, you always knew where the ONE was. It was a great show.

Travis is a good musician, far better than I, but with another 20 years under his belt, he'll be a great one.

Yeah if you wanna hear some more sick playing from this guy you should check out the record Greasy Feet. It's by his group New Soul Underground. Very funky stuff and even features his pops on a couple tunes. Seriously sick tone on this record.

Saw larry carlton trio last week, with his son Travis on bass and a very solid drummer whom I unfortunately forgot the name. Show was too short (no encore) but nevertheless excellent, one of the best concerts I've been to in the last few years.

Larry is a legend and the interplay between these 3 guys was terrific. Monster grooves, killer tone from Travis - 2 aguilar heads (AG500?) with 2 Aggie 410, and his Sadowsky Vintage 5. Killer pocket playing, great solos with some tasty slap.
