Trios with Bassist Lead Singers?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I am a guitarist-turned-bassist who is also attempting to sing in a trio consisting of myself, a guitarist and drummer. I jokingly mentioned that we will be ok as long as we cover only tunes done by trios with bassist lead singers. Then we got into a discussion of how many of these there were. Some we thought of:

Police
Budgie
Rush
Cream

Then I couldnt think of anymore off hand...

Can anyone think of any more? I am thinking of groups people have heard of, so they must have had at least one album out, for example. Also I am only looking for trios, so groups like Thin Lizzie don't count.

peace,

D

You gotta do some Budgie stuff! Napoleon Bona Parts I and II, or Nude Disintegrating parachutist Woman are my suggestions.

Trapeze, with Glenn Hughes?

Niacin? Billy Sheehan's bass does all the singing.

Forgive me for not knowing this (as I've seen them several times in the past 30 years), but did Dusty Hill ever sing?

They reunited just over two years ago, but Ron Aspery then passed away in Dec 2003. The other two are still going and have recruited Rod Mason on saxes:http://www.cultfound.org/back%20door%20page.htm There is a Back Door documentary DVD coming out soon.
