| | | | I've often hoped that one day troy sanders will release a cd of just his bass playing. Especially in Crack The Skye...I'll always love pre-Skye Mastodon, but the bass lines in CTS are just amazing. |

| | | | CTS blew my mind and made me fall back in love with earlier mastodon. I listen to Blood Mountain in a whole different way now. |

FWIW, Mastodon & High On Fire are definitely two of the most fun metal shows I've been too--and I've seen quite afew. |

I really like Troy's style and sound, and I feel he has lots still to show us...

| | | | I saw them a few months back ((shortly after CTS was released)) in pontiac MI. Amazing stuff. A band called Kylesa opened for them, they were great to...Worth giving a listen to if you like Mastodon I'd say. |

| | | | i don't get them. i've tried but i guess i'm missing something. i think they're way over-rated and quite average. different strokes...

With that said, I love Troy's use of distortion, especially in Blood & Thunder. By the way, what does he down-tune to? I thought it was D-drop-C, but I heard somewhere he goes all the way down to A.

| | | Troys tunings differ....his most common is D standard for most songs DGCF
he also uses drop C and on a few tracks like Aqua Dementia he tunes his E down to A which i think is crazy! how can he keep tension on that using only 4 strings? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
