Anyone else into his bass lines and sound?

I love his tone, pretty much what a P bass should sound on a rock band. Here is a good example:

It sounds really good, but I haven't heard of him before.

Here he is New Years at MSG playing a Birdsong - he has two (that I know of), including Birdsong CortoFusion #2 (I have the prototype, from the same plank of wood.

Very good and apparently a really good guy.

He has two (that I know of) - Cortofusion #2 (my bass's twin and the 'fusion that appeared in one of their Bass Player magazine ads) and a RatRod - either the first or the second of them. The Fusion appeared on Jay Leno and the Rat Rod showed up at the New Years/Times Square appearance.

That said, their last album predates the Birdsongs, so it's all P bass (from what I can tell).

Anyone else hear a healthy dose of bridge pickup in there? I'm pretty sure a tone like that is hard to get with a vanilla P.

I like My Morning Jacket but the amount of vocal echo on their studio recordings "muds" up the overall sound. What's up with that?

i love MMJ and Two Tone's groove. He has some pretty cool lines that really move and help to counter the guitar lines.

i don't think it muds it up at all. they record vocals in grain silo's to get all that verb. pretty creative and inventive if you ask me.

Dondante !!! the live version on "okonokos" is one of my favorite songs ever ! It's pure magic. The guitar, the bass, the drums, the saxophone at the end... go listen to it ;-)

Edit: I'm going to see them in November and I'm excited !! saw them 5 years ago and I've been waiting since then to see them again (they cancelled their european tour 2-3 years ago)
