Hi!

I'm just curious as to who are the british Tony Levin, Will Lee, JMJ, Nathan East etc... Bass players who are touring with different big names and doing session work over there.

Thanks!

Is he really almost the only one doing all session and touring work??

Form afar it looks like indeed it's more of a band culture in England than a session musician one. I maybe totally wrong though but if it is a band culture, how does one survives? In my sense you would have to be in like a handful of bands in orther to make a living since not every single band is always successful.

Check out the UK's Bass Guitar Magazine. It looks like Yolanda Charles is very hot on the session and touring scene in Britain, and the legendary player Mo Foster is still around too, just to name a couple of people.

True but neither are parallel with the American's above.

Nick Beggs springs to mind as well

I can add a guy by the name of Paul Geary (George Michael, Mick Hucknall, Nik Kershaw). Paul was my bass teacher for a few years, top bloke.

Other UK session players: Paul Westwood, Phil Mulford, Julian Crampton, Mo Foster, Nick Beggs.

Cheers,
Essexbass
