Question Unknown Bass Player.....Help!

Sign in to disble this ad
A friend of Mine said he caught a Wyonna Judd concert on Television a few years back, and the bass player did a solo spot with a combination of funk, country, slap bass, etc, and he was an awsome skilled player. Does anyone have an idea to whom this bassist may be?

Was he left-handed; Keith Horne?

Willie Weeks was her bass player for a little while back in the 90s. Bass Player Magazine did short article on her touring bass player from the later 90s. A black guy who's name escapes me.

Alan Vorse, the bassist was a white guy, and it was between the range of 2000 and 2001....hope this helps a little more.

Then we should be leaning in the Keith Horne direction.

It might be John Howard. He plays in the Nashville country-rock band Sixwire, used to play with Faith Hill, and Lee Greenwood before that. When I knew him (in the late 80s) he was an absolutely smoking bass player for the legendary Austin funk band Extreme Heat. You have accurately described his style.

He's the guy on the right in this picture:
