-Vail loves playing bass
-you don't need a Sadowsky or Fodera to sound good
-you can lay down a tasty solo without 7 strings
-Vail still brings much of the same phrasing from Kenny G Live
Thanx for sharing, Dr C .

| | | | listen, I play fodera basses, but I 'm going to offer a squier jazz bass to my nephew, I love these basses.
So of course there's no need to own a fodera to sound good.
but it helps and the fact of owning one is just a pleasure by itself.

Fodera? Sadowsky? I think Kubicki's (like Vail's) kick 'em all to the curb!

Thanx for sharing, Dr C . | I know this is hyperbole. Frankly, I cannot remember a single solo on a Fodera. That is not a slam on Fodera's or their owners, it's just that the truly seminal and memorable solos I know of were played mainly on Fenders with a few being done on Alembics or Stingrays among others.
I take it back. Although he is not much of an influence on me, Victor Wooten's stuff has clearly turned much of the bass world on its ear.
