I've watched some of the clinics from Bass Player Live 2008 on bassplayer.tv. Brian Bromberg's was stupid good and Ricky Minor's was cool. The one that really captivated me was Verdine White's-and he never played a note!!!! He gave some amazing insights and history of EWF, the bass and the music scene at that time. Really cool!!!!

I was working on the audio-visual crew for the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame Awards Show at the Waldorf-Astoria in 2000, the year EWF was inducted, and my most vivid memory of that event was a jam they did for soundcheck. Verdine was basically playing one note every two or four bars, just dropping these huge bombs on the one surrounded by miles and miles of empty space. Now and then he'd throw in a tiny little ornamental slide or mini-lick to setup the next downbeat, but for the most part is was just

BOMP

BOMP

BOMP

BA-BOMP

(etc.)
I practically schidt my pants it was so funky. Unbelievable groove. One note, and a bunch of air. Perfect.

I'm dying to see it, but I can't find it on the site! Can you help navigate through the menus, or post a direct link?
