Wow that should be fun, seen Vic with DMB, that was a blast... Chick really has good taste in bassists (Avishai, Pattituci, Benevente, Stanley...etc.)

Thumbs up

I was impressed by vic's over the top double thumbing and general awesomeness and bought yin yang. Gotta say, that is one heck of an album! despite the obligitory bass solos, it has some really great music on it. Vic is really a great composer. It took a couple of listens to the whole album to begin to appreciate it, but that was the same with most of my favourite musicians whaen i heard their music for the first time.
Long story short- buy Ying Yang! and give it a chance before dismissing it.

I would.

He has complete control and mastery of his instrument. Nothing comes out of his bass that he didn't intend for it to.

I love the Flecktones and need to see them live someday.

Vic's solo stuff is just slightly awesome as well...

there is a balance and integrity to victor's playing that is rarely accomplished; he plays passionately from the heart, and with exceptional technical precision. jaco used to integrate heart and head that way too, although with a much different style.

victor is the man
