IMHO, it's not just the jaw-dropping solos that make it onto you-tube. It's the humor (e.g., 12 days of xmas, in 12 different keys and meters...), and all the times when he's just laying down the bass line, helping everyone else sound fabulous. It's all that.

| | | | The Flecktones don't pay Michigan? I find that hard to believe. Vic is on the road A LOT, either with them or another project. Haven't seen his solo show in 10 years, but he's constantly on the road. |

Enjoy the show.
btw, Vic sometimes hangs out after the show and meets/greets the fans. I didn't get to meet him this time around, but a fellow TBer did.

I usually don't spend this much time on these kinds of threads. I happen to be waiting for my indoor/outdoor cat to come back inside. We've had a lot of coyotes in the area lately. Hmmm. Maybe if I just go to bed, I won't have to wait any more...

I have one of him and the Flecktones where he breaks G-string. He pauses, and then just continues hammering away. I need to go practice some more.

JB | In the vid where he breaks his G string, is the song Sinister Minister? Im pretty sure I have seen that vid before.
Here is another one of my favorite vids of him. Actually Im gonna say this is my favorite vid. ‪Victor Wooten - Isn't She Lovely?‬‏ - YouTube

| | | | Saw him last night in KC. Great show, first time I've seen him or the Flecktones live. Worth seeing! I was a bit disappointed in the sound. There seems to be a trend to push up the bass (maybe 100 Hz and down) and leave a hole in the midbass, which to me robs richness from the tone and makes pitches hard to hear. Still, stunning work by the whole band I thought. Victor was almost all slap, which exacerbates the PA frequency response issue I think I hear. Still stunning, and a very good showman to boot.
FWIW, Howard Levy did things with a harmonica I would not have thought possible. |

I had followed a link that was just part two. The link from the OP has been my new favorite Wooten solo. At first it was 'Amazing Grace'. Altho I am now leaning toward 'Victor's Jam' from the Wooten-Bailey DVD.

So I'm looking forward to seeing them in Nov. BTW the new CD is great!
