Victor Wooten clinic in DC

Hi there,

I think this is my first post on that forum. I hope this is the right section for this post.

Maybe it has already been announced here on TB, but there is a clinic with Victor Wooten and drummer JD Blair, on Monday 23rd 2009, from 1pm to 3pm, at Washington Music Center in Rockville MD.
I'll be there.

NB: they will also play the same day in Alexandria VA.

I forgot to mention it is free (I think) it is rather a demonstration of Hartke amps by Victor than a real clinic session.

I went to his camp in TN. If you ever get a chance to meet him, do so. One of the nicest and down-to-earth guys you will ever meet. And that goes for his wife, JD, his brothers, Steve Bailey, etc. The whole organization was unbelievable!

They are playing at Ram's Head Annapolis the next day the 24th. I grabbed one of the last decent seats a few days ago. Glad to see this post. I'll be there also!!!!

I went to the clinic, contrary to other comments it was a real clinic. He mentioned the amps once when somebody asked about them. He gave lots of good advice about progressing as a musician and taking a different approach to music. Very philosophical stuff. Very cool.

Also went to the show at The Birchmere in Alexandria that night. He and JD Blair played a lot of funk and funk-esque stuff. JD is such a great drummer and you all know about vic. The show was also broadcast on http://www.thebassvault.com/

It was quite entertaining and interesting at the same time.
The show in the evening was full of good vibrations.

I saw the show in Annapolis last nite. It was great. JD Blair is a great entertainer. Anthony Wellington showed up and played for a half an hour. Also a Gentleman with a wooden flute came up and played a medley with them and that was great. 3 of Victor's children did 2 tunes. (that was a crowd pleaser) And to top it off....he did a solo medley of new and previous solo's that boggled the mind!!!!
