Tom, Vic usually has a "class" before the show. Try and go. It was a Sat here, so he drew near 200 to the class alone. Truth be known, his 35-40 min solo to introduce the class sometimes SLAYS the solos during the show. Its more intimate, and I beleive he feels more comfortable there. Must see. Great band, great players. The drummer SMOKES! Better than pure solo bass imho.

I don't think he had a class for this show (it was on a Tuesday night) but I was only there an hour before the show so I'm not sure.

Great concert. Ironically, it was my drummer who really wanted to see Victor. I think he's an amazing talent, but I like him better with the Flecktones (who I'm seeing at Yoshi's in the fall) than solo. Still, I'm glad I went. Even got to shake hands with the man.

Funny, not to digress way too much here, but when the Funk gets under your skin, it DEFINTELY changes your epistemology a bit. Natural human development to a higher order, I'd say. Maybe made my skin tone a bunch darker, and way more open.

T-MOST wasnt being flippant about that, its REAL. So as my commander officer said to more than once - " young Mr. X, be careful what you wish for! "

Y'ALL would be blessed by Mother Music even more if you TRULY embraced the soul of FUNK. So line up soliders, and GET YOU SOME!

Y'all might not be aware of this, but Vic's bass tech, Anthony Wellington, is a true "funkateer" in every sense of the word.
