I don't deny his obvious virtuosity and talent, but at the end of the day that means less than nothing to me because I have still yet to hear him write or perform an original piece of music that I find anywhere near as profound as the hype and credit he receives for being a virtuoso.
I am not trying to rain on anybody's parade, I just dont understand the excitement surrounding him sometimes. its all about the MUSIC, and his is subpar IMO.

I do love W-00-10 though! I've seen him and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones 3 times and absolutely love them. Victor is who really made me want to push myself to learn the bass better.

I too am not a big fan of his solo music, but I love the Flecktones.

If I catch it then I catch it, if I don't then its no great travesty to me either. If it were an entire concert then I'd make sure I tune in for it.
