What????? Goodfellas is gone? Daym. I hung out there many a night but mostly in the Va Bch scene. I'll be in town in May and want to see some live Blues while I am there.

Yeah, I know Jackie. She is back and forth up here in Chicago hanging out with Nellie "Tiger" Travis. Nellie is one Bad Blues Singer! She lives a few blocks away from me. I have played with her before, as a matter of fact I brought Nellie and Shun Kikuta ( Bad a$$ed Japanese Blues Guitar player) down to both Jewish Mothers about 8 or 9 years ago. Thanks for the info.

Whoa!!! I have been gone too long. I just checked out J Mom's site and evidently the Oceanfront location is gone and they have moved to the Hilltop area. Looks like the Portsmouth location is gone too and they moved that one to Norfolk. Man , I have some catching up to do. Don't think I will be bringing a bass on this trip.

Wow I am *late* to this party! Raised in Herndon, been living in Charlottesville since 1982. I hope I get a number, it would be my first club membership here on TB. Come on down to sweet Virginia!

I'll fix the numbers later - didn't realize I had anyone on there twice, much less 3 times!

Yeah, Jew Ma is moving into the old Steppin' Out building after they renovate - right now, they've sort of taken over the backstage bar at the Norva.

That's what I figured. I couldn't think of any other building in that area it could have been. Do they still host a Blues Jam?

I'm another original resident of Clintwood, VA. I can't believe there is more than one person on this forum that has any inclination about where that is. Glad to see you fellows here!!

I'm currently living in Evansville, IN and will be moving to Parris Island, SC at the end of the year. I am in the Army and on Active Duty so I tend to move around pretty frequently.

Hasn't been any action on here in a while. I'm new on TB and born and raised in the outskirts of Richmond.

Good to see this thread bumped up, mostly because I had a question - I am in search of an instructor for some lessons, preferrably in Reston or Arlington area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
