wankinest Wooten video

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Folks,
Who can direct me to a clip of V. W. at his wanking best?

I got into a disagreement last night at a party with someone who worships at the feet of His Holiness, Victor Wooten. She was a hot chick and we were flirting, so I provoked her with the exaggeration that Wooten's a wanker.
Next step: I'm going to send her a URL for a clip of Wooten going over the top and playing waaaaaay too many notes. If I'm lucky, I'll get a juicy slap in the face for my troubles.
*disclaimer* I have only the highest respect for V. W.
Thanks.

Yeah, but it's not all that great.... way too much emphasis here on prog. The Byrds couldn't book a gig, even if they played for free.

Anybody want to help me get under this girl's skin?

If you've ever been to one of his clinics you would know that he puts much more emphasis on melody and groove than wanking----I'm just biased because I Went to his camp, but still. Every time I've seen him live he'll throw in a crazy slap thing at just the right time for just the right amount of time---People don't seem to understand just how much control Victor has when it comes to entertaining a crowd---That's probably the most important aspect of his shows

There's no question in my mind about VW's stage supremacy. But there has to be a clip out there that would make even the boys in Rush say: puulllllleeeeeeezzz!

I think you'll have a hard time finding a video of HIM overwanking without it sounding good, but finding one of Regi(his brother, guitar) shouldn't be too hard----It's amazing to watch him but he goes WAY too far with the slapping and popping on guitar-

You can't say that anything Victor does is bad. The only thing you can say is that he does too much of it.

Personally, I love his solo stuff for what it is. He's a genius, really. But within the context of a band format, I find him surprisingly average.

Not trying to bash Wooten here since he is a fantastic player, however i can't stand that thumb strummy shreddy stuff he does where you can't even hear the notes and its all just "brpbrpbrpbrpbrp"

You all seem to get it. Now, who's going to help me clinch it with this woman?

If no one can suggest a video, does anybody have any other ideas?

this is a long video, and I think it's fantastic, but there is definitely some stuff you may find useful.

if this works for your plan, and you nab this girl, you take her and her hottest friend down to NY and I get first pick.
