I want to play, but I have a horrible migraine. I've taken more Bayer than I should've already, to no avail. Sounds hurts.
Any suggestions?

See a doctor. Seriously. Aspirin will not do anything for a legitimate migraine headache. Triptans work.

Why would you post this in *bassists*?
On topic, get off the computer & lie down.

I used to be on Imatrex and Naproxen, but I don't have insurance anymore. I think I'll just play without plugging in..

And I posted it here because it's bass related, and I don't feel like getting nonsensical answers from people in the "OT". :P
Can not lie down whilst my boyfriends band is jamming. >_<

Is this for a gig or just at home playin? If it is a gig, suck it up. If this is practice at home, take the night off. I played a gig with the worst headache/hangover about five years ago. By the second song my head did not hurt anymore, I had one of my best shows ever.

At home. This is the first weekend that I've had off in some time. I don't wanna pass up on a chance to practice. I haven't been able to much as of late. No one knows any home remedies? Heh.

From my brother's website:

"If you're serious about curing a non-migraine headache, place a Goody's powder in your mouth and let it dissolve there.

Corollary: If you can't stand the taste of the powder, your headache is not serious."

Sure its a migraine? The fact that you're online or wanting to play your bass makes me suspicious.

Maybe your boyfriends band jamming is the cause. Go for a walk/drive, quiet usually helps me out.

I was gonna say those ol' OT clowns are everywhere, but I'm not sure I need to...
On that note, are you what they call a *bassist*?

Awww. I love you guys, too. :P Yes, it's a migraine, but it's caused because I have a double ear infection. Fun times. I'm stubborn, so I just figured I'd suffer through it and put in some ear plugs and went and jammed with them. Hahaha. It's definitely not my worst migraine, but now I feel I may vomit. I'll talk to you chaps, later... maybe.

I don't have cable/satellite, so... I'll probably be back on here shortly.

I would look in the phone book for a practitioner of Chinese medicine and see if you can get an appointment. There are very effective pressure points and acupuncture treatments for migraines.

OT meets bassists!

But seriously, using a computer screen is not the right way to go about getting rid of a headache.

Have you gone and kept a diary of everything you eat and drink and note when migraines hit? Also sleep patterns etc? I am out in left field here, but have been reading that a lot of things, including migraines may be food/beverage intolerance's and not true "migraines". Imagine, all the meds in the world may not stop the issue if you continually fuel your body with something it does not like.
