Weekend at Ernie's

You know, here's something you don't see very often:

And he's actually an accomplished bassist. (Ask Michael Jackson!)

Anyway, just wanted to post a few relevant photos from last weekend at the Ernie Ball Desert Domination
Bash. Some really great bassists were on hand and did clinics and played some cool stuff and answered
questions and hung out with us and traded stories and so on.

Not a great bassist, that's me playing a 20th Anniversary SR5 much like my own except not mine at all,
since it has rounds on it. Also Steve Lukather sportin' a beautiful new "BFR" gee-tar.

Steve Morse and Dave LaRue did a clinic and played more notes than you can imagine.

Yours truly again with a Bongo 6 in a new blue finish.

Now THIS was a clinic. L-R, John Ferraro (drums - http://www.johnferraro.net/), Jimmy Cox (keys - has played with
everyone from Knopfler to Rondstadt to Lyle Lovett and thousands of others), Steve Morse, Steve Lukather,
Dave Marotta (http://www.davemarotta.com/), Cliff Hugo (Supertramp, Carl Verheyen,et al), Sterling Ball (needs
no introduction), Dave LaRue and Tony Levin.

You can imagine what sort of funk this was.

TL, scary bassist, nice human being.

Anyway, I have thousands of photos but thought you guys might enjoy a sample.

You just don't look comfortable with 6 strings, Jack.

(Sort of like me and 5 strings.)

P.S. Where the hell is Pete Levin?

Looks like it was beyond being a blast. I really wish I coulda gone this time...
Had a plane ticket and time off work. Then my wife's grandma wasn't doing so good, so I exchanged my ticket and let her go visit her grandma.
There will be no stopping me for next time tho.
