No, I didn't go to the memorial. I never really knew Donnie, though some of the guys I've played with have. It was sad to read about in the papers though when he passed.

Man, I haven't heard Frank Lake's name in years. The first guitarist I ever played with nearly 30 years ago now used to be good friends with him back in the 80's. The guitarist I played with was working at East Coast Music at the time when it used to be by Candlewood Lake. Actually, now that I think of it, the drummer I jam with now has played a fair amount with Frank over the years too I think. Small world! lol...

That's before my time- I moved here from NJ in '84. Where did this jamming happen? Not much happening here now.

Good god, On The Hill. Played there way too often back then. There's a good reason that place burned down. lol...

Ya, the Danbury/Brookfield area is pretty dead as far as the music scene goes these days. But back in teh 70's and early 80's, it used to Rock. There used to be a lot of places to play. sadly that all ended in the mid-80's. This place is horrible where live music is concerned now.

That's probably the single biggest reason I don't bother with trying to play in a gigging band anymore. There's simply nowhere to regularly play around here anymore. lol... Instead I just get together once a week or so with old friends at a private jam and have at it with music we all enjoy playing. It's been very therapeutic. lol...
