I think it was the Gibson on that and a few of the others. Prolly a P most of the time though. I think the neck from the smashed bass lives on today though--check out pics of him with The Good The Bad and The Queen---it's that black headstock'd P neck (didn't the smashed one have a neck like that?)
Paul is awesome---always played the right part to take the vibe up to the next level. Sounds great with TGTBATQ too--check 'em out if you haven't heard them.

I'm relatively certain that the bass he's still using is a different one. Story is that the one he's using now with the Good, The Bad, The Queen, has been his main bass since way back. It's got "Paul" carved into the top horn*. The bass smashed on the cover of London Calling currently resides in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and has "Pressure" written on a sticker on the top horn.

EDIT: My bad. "Paul" is written on the upper part of the body not the upper horn. Clearly I've got too much time on my hands...

That's just in the video. And I'm fairly certain that Mick Jones didn't record the song with the big Gibson jazz box he plays in the video.

Paul almost never smashed instruments. Over the years he has expressed regret about that incident. He loved that P-bass, it was great. He was having some kind of technical difficulty that night and got so frustrated that he smashed the thing. He regretted it almost immediately. Highly recommended the Clash: Westway To The World DVD.

Yes.
Forget the videos. The sound on the recording is a P-bass.
