What Bassist Are You Tired Of Hearing About?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm sorry to admit but I am tired of hearing about Flea, Jaco, Stanley Clarke, and as much as I like the guy, Paul McCartney. Yeah these guys were innovative, talented, inspiring, etc., but it seems like everyone is regurgitating the same old cliches.

Who are you tired of hearing about and who is the one person you'd like to be featured more often?

I'd like to hear a bit more about the incredible Al Rex from Bill Haley's Comets. Listen to "Goofin' Around" or watch his performance of "Rudy's Rock" from the film "Rock Around The Clock." Now that'd be a change of pace.

I rarely tire of hearing interesting/new info about great bassists, like the ones you mentioned.

On the other hand, I'd die happy never hearing another word about Gene Simmons, or Fieldy.

By posting this thread, I, in no way, am intending for people to criticize or demean any fellow bassists or "heroes." My only intent is to have people open their minds and explore other choices when it comes to advancing and excelling in both bass playing and in music.
