What bassists are DEFINITLY on your list?

Oops, I missed that. But just replace the first three with Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, and Les Claypool and you're golden!

Scott LaFaro - Double-bassist (jazz) active in the late 50's and early 60's best known for his revolutionary ensemble work with pianist Bill Evens and drummer Paul Motian, culminating with a pair of LP's recorded live at the Village Vanguard in NYC on June 25th, 1961. He died in a car crash shortly thereafter.
