I don't do a whole lot on stage. I just listen to the music and try to keep the groove. If I see the crowd getting less interested, I try to make the groove funkier so they have no choice but to start dancing. I know I should probably have a better stage presence, but I feel my primary job is to set the foundation to the music, and showboat is secondary.

i move the most. always tasteful though. i groove with my head, move up to the crowd, groove and headbang a little with the drummer, and sometimes head over to the guitar player and trade licks.

Since I sing about 30 songs and sing backup on the other 30 I don't get a chance to get away from the mic for long but I link up with the drummer and lead player when I can.

Depends on the gig. I tend to be at either one end of the spectrum, or its polar oppositre. Rarely in the middle.

Basically, I happily sit on a stool, play bass & sing. And that's pretty much it, LoL.

I don't have that much stage experience, but as far as playing with different bands, I tend to play a practice as if it's a show. In that case, it depends on the music. If it's something smooth and slow, I just tap my foot, close my eyes and get into it. If it's something fast or heavy i could be anywhere. I do not jump though. I can't keep track of my hands when I jump.

I usually gig wireless, and I tend to cover the stage and interact with my band mates but I don't jump off my speaker cabs or swing from the in house speaker system

I like to dress wierd and outrageous, but I don't do any theatrics but nod my head to the beat.

I bob my head in time with the music. I also get Homer Simpson's "NO, NO, don't stop rockin'" look on my face.

I try to be just a slightly higher energy level than the audience... in fact the whole band does... it's weird if you see a band playing as if they're rocking a 50,000 seater Enormo-Dome, giving it massive rock 'shapes', to an audience of 5 bored-looking people... it's incongruent and looks like choreography rather than spontaneous 'getting into it'

so we move about a little, and when the crowd warm up and jump around too, we turn it up a notch... and see how crazy we can make the crowd... you don't need much in the way of aerobics as long as you're moving about and people can see you're into it.. there's nothing worse than seeing a stage full of bored looking musicians.. John Entwistle only got away with it because he was in a band with 3 OTT showmen
