What famous bassist have you been able to meet?

OK, this thread is not made to bash different bassists that others have been able to meet that you might not be soooo crazy about [probably who I'll name ] So even if you hate someones choice, lets be polite =)

I was able to meet Reginald Arvizu of Korn. Since years ago I always looked up to him and I was finally able to meet him in person. Some people say his tone is the sound of a tin foil can being hit -_- lol I personally have found work of his very complex, intricately placed, and in newer Korn albums overlooked [minus korn III ] He will be releasing an all solo "non-heavy" bass album in the near future.

Getting to meet Sheehan was cool. He was super nice. My goal was to not say anything stupid. I successfully asked a few questions about technique, his bass and he traded me a "Holy Cow" pick for my silver Sharpie that I had for him to sign my TALAS vinyl.

Rudy Sarzo was super nice as well. I was able to snap a few photos for him and discuss Stanley Clarke.

I was able to say "Thanks" to Vic for a killer clinic, but he's Vic, wherever he goes he has a crowd wanting to talk to him.
Hah I met a few jerks too, but well who cares.

So far, I've only had the chance to meet Paolo Gregoletto from Trivium, and it was worth it. Very nice guy, and seemed genuinely glad when I said I appreciated his playing. Actually talk with him on Facebook from time to time...

I am fortunate enough to play bass for Booker T and in the past year was able to meet and hang with some pretty outstanding dudes in the bass world. Did a show with Earth, Wind and Fire in Germany this past summer and got to kick it with Verdine White. Did a show in Sao Paulo, Brasil and got to see Living Colour kick the crap out of a set at 4 in the morning and then hung with Wimbish til the sun came up. Also got to meet and share a few bills with George Porter when he played with Scofield and then again in New Orleans with his own band. I am grateful to the powers that be to have met some folks who have influenced all of us as players. And I think I can honestly say that bass players in general are the coolest motherf*%$ers there are.

Had a beer w/ Mike Watt before a show on the Ball Hog tour. Ruled. Got to chat w/ Vic Wooten after a show at Copper Mountain a few years ago and it was also cool. Talked w/ Karl Alvarez after an All show for a while & he was also super cool.

Otherwise, I've shook the hands of quite a few bass players I've paid to see over the years... Eddie Spaghetti, Troy Sanders, Ian Miller, Jesse Buglione, Lou Barlow... there are more, but I always feel like I'm bugging them if I strike up a converastion.

I've met David Sparks from Daphne Loves Derby, Garron Dupree from Eisley, Nikki Monninger from Silversun Pickups, Eddie Breckenridge from Thrice, and Zach Smith from Pinback. They were all super nice people, and I cant think of anything negative to say about any of the experiences.

I met Percy Heath in the late 80s and Chuck Rainey in the late 90s. My brother took lessons from Chuck for a while, so I met him at a few gigs.

I also am friends with the somewhat lesser-known-but-terrific-nonetheless bassist Steve Eddington from the Country/Rock band Heartsfield out of Chicago.
