| | | | I personally like the jazz a lot...but he will still be Geddy with any bass, so it would not make too much of a difference for me. |

But I love the Jazz the most.

Keep wishing. |

I'd like to see more bass parts like that, and see them recorded on the Wal
Too bad it aint happening :/
Oh well, he could do a lot worse

| | | | As a big Geddy fan, I have to comment on this. I love his recorded tones, but the last couple of times I saw him the jazz was far too bright. It did not have much definition, nor did it sit well in the mix. On the last tour, he pulled out a Ric, and the problem went away. I realize that this could be a PA issue, but me thinks it might be a more fundamental thing. Heck, I could go with him using the Wal or the Steinbergers again...frankly, I think the mid eighties through early nineties was the period were he had his best tone, and his best playing. Mind you, I said best playing, not the always the most notes or wildest licks.
Just my 2 heavily Geddy influenced cents,

I'd love it if Geddy would use Wal again. His tone on "Hold Your Fire" is my favourite bass tone ever. It's amazing! |

| | | | Well I could elaborate more...I mean, the Steinberger sounds way too weak I think, or is it the recordings? I liked the Wal alright, but I think I actually prefer the jazz over them all. |

Geddy used it in the warmup sessions for PW but all tracks on the records were done with the Wal he was lent while he was in the studio. They started off with the Steinberger IIRC but it wasn't delivering when they recorded it, so Geddy started over with the Wal. |
