I just sit there, while being downed out buy our scooped mids guitarist that cranks. so i crank the low end so i know im doing SOMETHING. so ill just take the punishment and play my part. ill tell him to turn down a little....he will, like a tap. so i like being in the backround.
PS?: think im going to solve that volume problem with a 15' extension cab.......haha. |

I like the supportive role of the bass, I like making the others look good (even if this means not always being recognized). To me it's cool when others don't even realize how much of an impact your having until they play the song without you and then they get it, ya know?
At times I can get a little too busy and I have to take step back and look at what I'm playing and think about whether or not it's REALLY helping the song or just feeding my own ego! |

Function: noun
Etymology: intro- + -version (as in diversion)
1 : the act of introverting : the state of being introverted
2 : the state or tendency toward being wholly or predominantly concerned with and interested in one's own mental life. ex·tro·vert
Variant(s): also ex·tra·vert /'ek-str&-"v&rt/
Function: noun
Etymology: modification of German extravertiert, from Latin extra- + vertere
: one whose personality is characterized by extroversion; broadly : a gregarious and unreserved person ex·tro·ver·sion
Variant(s): or ex·tra·ver·sion
Function: noun
Etymology: German Extraversion, from Latin extra- + versus, past participle of vertere to turn -- more at WORTH
: the act, state, or habit of being predominantly concerned with and obtaining gratification from what is outside the self.
Extroversion is a tendency to seek external stimuli. An introvert on the other hand, would tend to focus inward for stimuli.
Anyone who enjoys an audience response would be considered an extrovert, whether or not he makes goo goo eyes and sticks his tounge out at the audience...like I do. http://www.m-w.com/

I used to get hung up on thinking I had to act more extrovert, but now I just enjoy the experience and don't worry about shutting my eyes and just getting into it.
I find it really difficult to move about much when I play - does this mean I'm useless? I felt much better when I heard that Chrissie Hinde (from the Pretenders) liked to have bassists who didn't move around.

I love the attention.::grins;: Hell half the time I get more attention the any of our lead singers.
