| did you mean hadrien? because he's soloing at that part, not evan. anyway, he's using the chromatic scale.
the sooner you can break away from thinking in terms of scales, the better off you will be imho. people who play thinking of scales sound like they're playing scales. in what hadrien played at that part, there are a lot of notes that you can't pin down to any one scale or mode. and using evan to figure it out isn't much help because the recording is so muddy.
btw, do people still actually wear those silly jazz hats? god, that is the worst look ever!
